Hotels In Aberdeen

Aberdeen, ‘Oil Capital of Europe’ – the ‘Granite City’. A fantastic range of first class restaurants and a vibrant nightlife combined with a thriving cultural calendar and shops galore, all help make Scotland’s third largest city well worth the trip.

Aberdeen is mainly blessed by being surrounded by a hinterland as tourism rich as anywhere on Scotland, featuring the superb Grampian Whisky, Victorian Heritage and Grampian Castle Trails, glorious Royal Deeside, the lovely fishing villages and towns of the North East – and not far away the delightful Moray Coast with superb beaches, wildlife and dolphin watching opportunities.

Expect: Sparkling granite in sunshine, a fairly dour grey look when the weather’s not so good. Very commercial, nothing spectacular by way of visitor attractions.

Best for: Business travel, shopping breaks, and purely to visit and experience it, for those that have not visited before.

Typical Aberdeen hotels: Dominated by chains and groups as you would expect, of variable quality.  The best hotels are on the outskirts and immediate hinterland – some lovely country house hotels.
