 |
GoldPlate™
We highly recommend dining at this hotel.
Expect nice touches and / or exceptional ingredients. This might include canapés or an
amuse bouche, pre-desserts, home-baked bread, organic or top-notch local produce, professional service, superior / innovative cuisine from an interesting menu overall.
Also anticipate at least a fairly good wine list. If the chef leaves, the hotel is re-reviewed quickly.
There must be quality surroundings and an all-round positive experience:
the GoldPlate is about service and atmosphere as well as fine cuisine. |
| |
|
 |
PlatinumPlate™
We highly recommend the whole dining experience at this hotel.
As with recipients of the GoldPlate do expect the nice touches and / or exceptional ingredients,
but the emphasis here is on imagination, originality and dependability.
PlatinumPlate awards are made where the chef is named and one of the country's finest.
If the chef leaves, the award is withdrawn, and the hotel re-reviewed.
Only a few places reach this standard: the PlatinumPlate is only awarded where we are
as sure as humanly possible that both cuisine and service will always be impeccable. |

HOSPITALITY AWARD |
 |
RedH™
We are very pleased to recognise hotels where the level of personal input and service from owners, management
and staff is above the norm. This distinction is awarded on merit to extra-friendly hotels, ones where we feel especially confident guests will receive real hospitality.

|
BAR AWARD |
 |
BarStar™
Bland bars need not apply: this distinction highlights special places in hotels.
Modern or traditional, you may be assured of a wide range of drinks, local specialities, perhaps malt whiskies.
Or it could be a hip joint where they know their Kirs, Wallbangers and Macadamia nuts. |
